Happy Monday!
📖 Something to Read:
If you follow our blog or have taken one of our courses, you've likely seen our popular blog on Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction. But wait, there's more!! Recently, I had the incredible privilege of chatting with the QUEEN of DI, Carol Tomlinson, about how both frameworks are evolving and the lines between them are blurring. Always eager to learn and grow, I’ve written an updated version to reflect the relationship between UDL and DI.
🔊 Something to Listen to:
The first season of The Education Table Podcast will wrap up by month's end. Reflection is super important for me, and as I start planning Season Two, I’d love to hear your thoughts—seriously, all feedback is welcome! If you’ve listened to the show, please:
Head to where you listen to podcasts (like Spotify or Apple) and leave a review
Head to the show page, where you can view all episodes and submit ideas for future episodes
Subscribe! I'll take that as a good sign 😀
📺 Something to Watch:
Goodness knows it's hard to find a good timer to use in presentations. Too often, there is a bell, a siren, or some other triggering noise. Never again. You asked, and we delivered. Check out our sensory-sensitive YouTube timers!
Join me on August 1st for a free live online masterclass exclusively for school leaders! I'll share common mistakes to avoid when creating your annual improvement plan. Plus, I'll share a resource at the end to help you continue the work after the workshop. This masterclass is perfectly timed to prepare you (or the leaders in your life!) for the 2024-2025 school year. Get the details and sign up now.
💭 Something to Make You Think:
I have fallen into the rabbit hole of TED shorts, and this one speaks to my heart. In less than a minute, cognitive scientist Sabine Doebel shares that executive function, like all things, is contextual:
"If you really want to improve your executive function, in a way that matters for your life, you have to understand how it's influenced by context."
Sit with that quote for a moment. Doebel reminds us all that true growth comes from recognizing the power of our environment. It's not just about working harder but surrounding ourselves with the conditions that nurture our potential. If you haven't figured out what those conditions are yet, don't give up. ❤️
😄 Something just for fun!
Our family spent the 4th of July on the beach with our sweet rescue, Birdie. She is living her best life. May you experience this much joy in July!!
